ISF: towards a more balanced European copyright framework
The Alliance will represent the interests of LIBER members and their academics and students in Brussels to help create a European copyright framework which balances the needs of rightsholders with the interests of European researchers and users. Leading this work on behalf of the Alliance are Toby Bainton and Helena Lovegrove. In a digital environment, copyright and IPR issues are central in developing an academic-friendly copyright regime in Europe.
LIBER is proud to be supporting this Alliance, the work of which will support all LIBER members across Europe. Questions or comments on the Alliance should be directed, in the first instance, to Dr Paul Ayris (LIBER President) at p.ayris@ucl.ac.uk, who chairs the Alliance’s Steering Committee.
Attached you can find the Proposal for a Directive on certain permitted uses of orphan works - A memorandum addressed to the Council of the European Union by Information Sans Frontières.
