LIBER launches its new interactive website
Today, 4/4, you will see the first result of these efforts: completely redesigned web pages, dynamic content including audiovisual material and full integration of social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Slideshare, YouTube etc.).
But the best is yet to come: in the next days and weeks we will contact the many LIBER Steering Committees and Working Groups and customise with them their new LIBER working space. Tools such as wiki, blog, task lists, chat, shared agenda, customised notification etc. will be standard functionalities for all LIBER members and members of the working groups in particular. This will give collaboration amongst LIBER members a totally new dimension.
In the next days and weeks all LIBER members will receive an individual user ID and password which each will be able to change. The former generic LIBER password will no longer be working. All LIBER members will also be able to register for short virtual training sessions (max. 1h) on the new collaborative environment. Participation in these sessions is certainly not mandatory, but they will of course help members to fully exploit the features of the new collaborative environment. These sessions will be organised over Skype. We will announce these sessions later via the usual LIBER communication channels (mailing lists, LinkedIn, Twitter).
We are convinced that the new website will provide the necessary platform for more and better services. It will enable you to be more directly involved in LIBER activities and projects and to discover the full potential of our unique network of European research libraries.
We look forward to receiving your feedback. Please send your comments/questions to liber@kb.nl.
