LIBER statement on the Google Book US Settlement Agreement
LIBER has been invited to present its position on the Google Book US Settlement Agreement before the European Commission at a hearing to be held on Monday 7 September 2009, in Brussels.
LIBER has finalised a written statement, prepared together with EBLIDA and IFLA. However, LIBER has preferred to especially highlight in its statement the implications for European research libraries. LIBER will verbally present its position at the hearing in Brussels.
This position statement is only the beginning of what will probably become a long consultation process of those parties involved in the Google Book Settlement, including European research libraries. Please do contact us should you have any comments or remarks on our position statement. We will keep you informed of any further progress.
