STEERING COMMITTEE - PRIORITIES FOR 2009-2012
- To promote and encourage the interpersonal exchange of experience and best practice among librarians of Europe across political, linguistic and cultural boundaries to the enrichment of all
- To pay particular attention to the needs of libraries of Eastern and Central Europe as they are facing significant organizational changes
- To encourage and facilitate the development of benchmarking in co-operation with other organizations, with the aim of identifying measurements independent of local culture, thus allowing for international comparisons
The Steering Committee is actively involved in information management and library and information science research. LIBER will offer guidance for the next generation of library researchers and information science specialists, and provide a bridge between experienced senior researchers and junior researchers in the field. LIBER services include the organization of trainings where new research methods are presented.
STEERING COMMITTEE - WORKPLAN FOR 2010

- Setting up the structure and working form of LIBER Services new subgroups
- Establishing the basis for operational cooperation with other international organizations in the field (EBLIDA, EAHIL, CERL) and preparing a proposal for LIBER Annual Conference
