Under the Statutes approved at the Annual General Meeting in Göttingen in 1994, LIBER modernized both its organization and patterns of work (LIBER Structure), in order to increase its ability to carry out important programmes of work for its membership.

Notice is given of the intention to dissolve the LIBER Association by decision of the LIBER Annual General Assembly on 3 July 2009 in Toulouse. The work of the Association will be continued by the LIBER Foundation, established on 12 January 2009.
